No substantial reason. The direction of the tree is reversible in both products
In TBC, you can click on a red icon directly in the view to go into a different direction. In TBE you can turn the tree around using the property: 'Treat property objects as parents?'. By setting this to false when using composite:parent, the TBE tree behaves the same as TBC Association Tree. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Catrina Sent: Friday, September 04, 2009 2:51 PM To: TopBraid Composer Users Subject: [tbc-users] Composer Associations View vs Ensemble Tree View I have a sample hierarchy that uses composite:child and composite:parent relationships to establish relationships between parent and child nodes. I'm displaying my hierarchy in Composer's Assocation View and also in Ensemble's Tree widget. I'd like to see me hierarchy in both Composer and Ensemble such that the root node is displayed first with it's children underneath. Something like: Root node Child A node Child A_1 node Child A_2 node Child B node My Composer Associations View shows my hierarchy in the desired format by selecting the composite:child relationship. However, my Ensemble Tree widget needs to be configured with the composite:parent relationship set in the Transitive Property field. This seems like they behave opposite of one another. Could you help me understand what exactly it means to set the property in both the Assoctions View and the Tree's Transitive Property field? I'm looking to understand why we use composite:child for one but composite:parent for the other.
