Scott - thanks for your reply. I can live with my mistakes if I've learned from them! - D

The base URI is used as the file identifier. I.e. just as each resource has a URI, the file also has a URI that identifies it - the base URI. The default namespace is the namespace used to define resources whose namespace is not specified. For example, if your default namespace is http://topbraid.org/mystuff# and you define a resource apples then the resulting URI is http://topbraid.org/mystuff#apples If, on the other hand, you define prefix xyz: http://topbraid.org/mystuff# and define the resource xyz:apples the result is the same URI: http://topbraid.org/mystuff#apples ?but you have specified how URIs are created with a given prefix, which becomes important when importing files. <the base uri box turned red and I had a message that read that the namespace already exists in the namespace prefix.> In the ontology overview, take a look the Namespace prefixes defined. The namespace prefix you are trying to define already exists. -- Scott On Nov 2, 5:39 pm, Dalia E Varanka <[email protected]> wrote: > After I changed the Base URI, I was no longer able to open the .n3 file. > I had to replace it with an earlier version and lost my work. > > Does a conflict arise if the Base URI is not the same as the folder/file > path name? > > ----- Forwarded by Dalia E Varanka/GEOG/USGS/DOI on 11/02/2009 05:37 PM > ----- > > From: > Scott Henninger <[email protected]> > To: > TopBraid Composer Users <[email protected]> > Date: > 11/02/2009 02:06 PM > Subject: > [tbc-users] Re: URI to match Oracle database > Sent by: > [email protected] > > Dalia; There are a lot of moving parts here, so I'm not sure I can do > much more than as some follow-up questions. > > <I manually created an ontology from some standards lists, but when I > wanted to link it to Oracle data...> > > An existing Oracle RDF data store?
