By "debugger" do you mean the Console view? The character encoding setting does not render accent characters, but files are created appropriately, and data in Composer forms will work as well. I've attached an example script that shows this. Open the script in exampleScript.n3. Run it in the debugger and you will notice that the Console does not display the characters properly.
