Mary; I would suggest using the binary on the download page. If you have other Eclipse applications you would like to run, you can add them to the Eclipse plugins from there. The extent to which this causes conflicts with other Eclipse applications would not be terribly surprising - it's a general problem with Eclipse applications and sometimes it's better to just run separate instances of Eclipse.
