Chris; The specific error concerns decompressing a response string sent from the server. So the issue is either that there is a mismatch in server, perhaps running multiple versions of TBC-ME or another service running on localhose:8083, or the Flex version you are using is out of date.
Could you let us know the usual - what version of TBC-ME you are using and on what OS. In addition, can you make sure that your version of the Flash Player is up to date? You can check for any browser at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html and can get an update at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html.
