Peter; What you need is to add a spin:constraint to your view class.
Use the "Create From SPIN Template" and add the predicate.  Let's say
you use "arg1".  sp:arg1 will then appear as a property for the
instance of your view class.  Use "Add SPARQL Expression" to add the
argument variable to that, i.e. "?arg1" in this example.

If that's not hitting the right spot let us know a few more details
about how you have the SWP set up.
