Thanks, that was exactly the problem! Not enough RAM assigned to the
virtual machine. Thanks, Cheers, Tony.

Anthony, I believe the problem is that you don't have enough
contiguous memory available to start Composer. Sometimes re-starting
the machine will work. Allocating more memory to your virtual machine
will also work.
If that's not possible, see
http://www.topquadrant.com/products/TBS_FAQ.html#TBC6
and *reduce* the amount of memory allocated to the JVM heap (the -xmx
value) until Composer starts successfully.

Hi. I'm currently involved with a cross-financial-industry group that
is
looking at how well semantic technologies can be used to represent

order to read and write OWL files for this project. However, I've had
some
issues with it, and a friend at TopBraid suggested that I post my
experiences to this list.
Under Windows 7, 64-bit, when I start TopBraid Composer, I get the
dialog
shown in the attached image. It doesn't really give me a clue as to
what
has gone wrong. Is there a log that TopBraid Composer writes, or a way
to
get it to log the issue in more detail? At the moment, I simply can't
run
it in Windows 7 64-bit. I don't know if it makes any difference, but
I'm
running Win7 in a VMware virtual machine using VMware Fusion on a Mac.
I have TopBraid Composer Free running under Linux (Ubuntu 10.04).
However,
when it starts up, it shows a default 'TopBraid' project, but it is
unable
to open *any* of the files in the project. It seems that they are all
read-only, and TopBraid Composer won't open read-only files. It was
confusing for me, and probably for others too, that Composer refuses to
open
the files in its own default project. That said, once I created my own
project with my own files, everything was fine.
I would appreciate any suggestions that anyone has about how I might get
Composer running under Windows 7 64-bit. Thanks very much in advance,
Cheers, Tony.
