David; I think we'll need a bit more detail and clarification. The problem occurs with TBC-ME, correct? What are the changes/edits that cause the problem and are they in Composer (TBC) or Ensemble (TBE)? What happens when the edits occur? Is there anything in the error log? You say it sometimes does not start up. What do you do to get it to start up?
