Well, there's no need to wait. The method I suggested has precisely the same semantics as you method of defining the enumerated datatype in the rdfs:range property. In fact, of you look at the source, it will define an owl:oneOf. It is exactly the same solution.
The **only** difference is that you give the enumeration a name.
