If you have the model set up the way you want it. I have found that it is easy to load tab delimited files to populate it with instances. In fact we do this routinely in an automated fashion via Sparql motion..
So I do what Holger suggests...it works fast with a ton of instances. Hopefully your instances are already describided in a manner that easily results in a tab-delimited text file.
