I forgot to mention that the parent classes were already defined in the onlogy before the import.

Everything went fine except for a small thing: I specified, in one column of the spreadsheed, the parent class for the imported classes, with column header "rdfs:subClassOf". All the imported classes went in fine, but their parent classes all got an extra statement about their type. Say the parent class name is AA, then this extra statement would be "AA rdf:type rdfs:Class" (they were already defined as owl:Class). What should I do to prevent this from happening?
