Hi!

I'm trying out TBC Free edition 4.4.0 under a 32 bit Windows 7 virtual
machine with 1GB RAM. I've previously used TBC Standard 4.3.0 in this same
VM so I know TBC works in this environment, which I use for testing Windows
applications (I use Linux myself).

After unzipping the distribution package and trying to start TopBraid
Composer, I get this error dialog:

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

A separate error dialog says:
Java was started but returned exit code=1
[...lots of debug output including the Java settings]

I traced this problem to memory issues. It seems that in 4.4.0 the Java
memory settings have been increased. I took the working memory settings
from 4.3.0 and changed these parameters in TopBraid Composer.ini:
-Xmx512M (was: 2048M)
-Xms256M (was: 640M)

After this change, I can at least start up TBC Free. However, it seems to
change back the .ini file settings when I run it once, so it will not work
another time.

Is this intended behavior, should I just add more RAM? Is the apparent hike
in memory requirements documented somewhere?

Thanks,
Osma
