Maatary,

First, you work in TBC-ME to build a connection to the database and to develop
a script that will do the regular updates.

Then, you would deploy the project you have developed to TopBraid Live server.
The script can then be scheduled to run as needed on the server.

Subject: Re: [topbraid-users] SQL TO RDF

Thank you all for the input. I have started to read this doc, about this
morning. I still need to get into it. But from what i rade so far, it sounds
like, composer will need to be running.

In my case, i would need a programing that lives somewhere on a server and
routinely perform the task of update from the SQL database to the RDF database.

Ideally, the solution would be to trigger the script each time an update
happens on the SQL database.

In addition, the help file for D2RQ mapping is at TopBraid Composer Help > >

Composer-ME and the wizard will help you pick which tables and columns you want
to view.

Maarary; To be clear, TopBraid Live is not needed for this conversion. You can
use TopBraid Composer-ME.

The D2RQ wizard is a good choice, and one the DataView mapping is opened you
can yse EXport > Export/Merge/Convert RDF Graphs to copy the data into an RDF
file.

For a SPARQLMotion solution, the sml:IterateOverSQL module will iterate
through the result set of a SQL query, which can then be converted to RDF with
an ApplyConstruct (basically a SPARQL CONSTRUCT query), etc., module.

Documentation on this can be found in TopBraid Composer Help > Reference >
SPARQLMotion Library Reference. There is also a useful section on our home
page:

Hi Maarary. I missed your specific SQL reference. There is ‘import relational
data using D2RQ’ wizard in TBC that is relevant. When possible - please also
review here:

Hi Maarary,

You can create an SDB connection file to your DB in TBC and create a
SPARQLMotion script. You can find much detailed information in the TBC help
file and at this page that should help you to get started
http://www.topquadrant.com/knowledge-assets/product-documentation/

Thanks,

HI,

as part of a project that i'm running for an organization i have the
requirement to convert some SQL data and RDF. These RDF data shall be store in
a semantic database from which they will exposed as linked data.

The semantic database is fixed and i have to use it.

Hence i need an approach to routinely convert the SQL data in RDF and update my
database with it.

Is there a way that TopBraid can help me with these kind of task ?

I red somewhere that SPAQRLMOTION could help with it. However i can't get a
hold on the right documentation. MoreOver it sounds like more TBC Mastro we
will have to get TOPBRAIDLive, to run sparqlMotion Script.

In short, what support TopBraid Provide for converting SQL to RDF. Is it a one
time thing, or there might be a way to do it routinely ?
