Subject: Re: [topbraid-users] RE: disjoint classes union

Just to be clear, Mark probably meant that TBC doesn’t support Manchester
Syntax for disjointness axioms.

One can certainly use TBC to create the following triples:

                                      RDF Turtle Syntax:

                                      _:x rdf:type    owl:AllDisjointClasses ;
                              owl:members ( :Mother :Father :YoungChild ) .

By using the approach demonstrated in Michel’s e-mail.

However, one can’t just type in TBC the Manchester syntax short cut
"DisjointClasses: Mother Father YoungChild"

The original question, however, was about owl:disjointUnionOf. By default, this
property is hidden and doesn’t appear on a form for a class. To use it, change
the Preferences so this property appears in the Properties View. Select a class
you want to specify as a disjoint union of some other classes, drag the
property into the class form and list these other classes within the square
brackets as shown below. Square brackets indicate rdf:List.

Hi Michel,

TBC does not support that particular syntax.

Thanks,
Mark

Oeps found it again….

So:

1. Instantiate owl:AllDisjointClasses
[cid:[email protected]]
      2. Add property owl:Members
      3. fill in:
Eg
[:City, :Device]

Thx Michel

In the manual it says: Note that OWL
2<http://127.0.0.1:50010/help/topic/org.topbraidcomposer.core/html/OWL_2.htm>
provides an additional construct to conveniently define a class as the union of
multiple disjoint classes.

But…does tbc also support it? (using 4.5 right now)

Thx michel
