To clarify, there is no need to assign sh:group to a property shape, but you do 
need to define a property shape for each of your properties. 

If there is no property shape for a property, the the property and its values 
will not appear on the “new” forms.

If there is a property shape and the shape does not have sh:group, then the 
property will appear on forms under Other Properties section.
