Ok, "just for you" and other potential Dark Mode users, I have added a
command line flag which needs to be set in the .ini (and .ini.orig) file
using
-Dtopbraid.suppressBackgroundColor=true
This will go into 6.3.0 and will stop the background color from becoming
yellow while editing.
