Hi Ray, Your questions seem to be related with the process rather than the tooling. The first point is to choose the language (the editor) and find an appropriate process to follow. My suggestion is that you start with UML (as the most known modelling standard) and that you use the activity diagram to describe your procedure. With activity diagram you will use action nodes (start with "callBehaviourAction" as you can refine the behaviour associated with those actions) and control flows between those nodes.
raphaël [email protected] a écrit : I have read many documents on the website and this mail list and they have all helped to motivate me. I have seen a few tutorials on how to use some specific tools.I don't see how to get started. I have setup 2.4.0. I have two projects to address. There is an international standard on the design of safety instruments systems and I would like to design a procedure to help design systems based upon this standard. Then I would like to use this procedure to design a system. So my first task is the design the procedure. I have read the document (PDF) and tagged it with comments to indicate where each of the 340 requirements are called out. I would like to refine and manage the requirements. Some of the requirements are things I have to do. Some are things others have to do, so I need to include them in a subcontract requirements list or specification and have test to assure that I will be getting what I asked for. There are requirements for maintenance of the final system that I don't need to execute but I need to provide for. So, it seems like I need to segment the requirements or the subsequent function space. Well, maybe this is too much detail for now but hopefully this portrays a picture of what I am trying to do and my lack of understanding of the tool (Topcased). I see that there are a variety of modeling tools. It looks like everything is done in these tools. Is this correct? Or are some things done in the modeling tools and passed to another tool that I have not seen yet? I would really like some suggestions on: 1) How to get started? 2) Which tools would be most suited to my use? 3) Is there a convenient way to search this mail list, a different user interface other than http://lists.gforge.enseeiht.fr/pipermail/topcased-users/2007-December/thread.html? 4) What should be my overall path? Thanks, Ray _______________________________________________ Topcased-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gforge.enseeiht.fr/mailman/listinfo/topcased-users --
