Hi Aparna,

With EMF you can generate a new genModel from a UML model : it will create automatically the Ecore file. In the Eclipse menu, choose "New > Other ...", and then "Eclipse Modeling Framework > EMF Model", here you have to follow the wizard steps, and that's all ! :-)
