In fact there is nothing that you did wrong nor issues with TOPCASED.
It is just a question of profile policy.
In fact, TOPCASED stores all the profile versions in the same file:
that is why your profile becomes so big.
Why storing all versions? simply to be able to detect automatically
that there is new version to apply.
In your UML model, you load your profile as an additional resource.
When the profile changes (when you defined it or save it with
modifications), TOPCASED can see that the applied profile version is
different than the new profile version and if you request "apply
profile", you see that your profile is available in the left list (it
can be applied once again).

thanks for your reply. Yesterday I created the same profile with
UML2Tools and the difference is amazing. TC-created profile has 4600
lines and the UML2Tools-created profile has 500 lines. Raphael I
