Hi John,

a few remarks.
1/ From your attached file (reqs.requirement), I notice that the requirement text was imported as an attribute. Probably we will have to more cautious with "text" attribute. It is a special pre-defined attribute and in the "map" step, the attribute must be left empty so that the import process recocnize it as THE text attribute. So please replay the import process wizard up to the "map" step. Then remove the mapping with column 2, delete your attribute named "Desc" and add a new attribute named "". This will be the "Text" and can then be mapped to column 2.

2/Then, open your  xx.umldi file.
3/ Open the upstreamRequirement and currentRequirements views (top menu Window>show view> other...>TOPCASED>upstream requirement).
4/ define the requirements (attach the "reqs.requirement" to your xx.uml file) through the key.

Now you should see your UpstreamRequirement view filled with your 4 requirements.

Is it OK up to this step?
The next step is dragging and dropping your upstream requirements to UML elements.
BUT you are right : it does not affect the .uml model nor the .umldi file ! This is the .requirement file that is affected and that will store the link to the UML element on which it is affected.
This is a choice so that we can apply requirements on any model from any metamodel. In addition it is not intrusive on UML model.

Remarks: in the "currentRequirement" view you should see the mapping between UML elements and requirements. Don't you?

Hope it helps,
thanks for your feedback
regards
raphaël

Hi,
I am having trouble with the requirements import process. I get to the point that I have attached the req file to the model but when I drag a req into the umldi file I do not see any difference in either the uml or umldi files. I am using the use case diagram.

Also I am not quite certain about leaving the name field blank for Text. Is that done once or for each field that contains text?

John
