After successfully creating an UML class diagram project and an empty model I
wanted to add classes and attributes.

At first I marked "Class" and created an empty (box) one in the current
package. Fine.

Now I wanted to add some attributes (e.g. public "name" with type "string" and
maxlength=20).

appears where I can add (more) attributes.

This is not the case in Topcased.

When I double click in such an (empty) class I am asked whether I want to
create an
- composite Structure Diagram or
- State Machine Diagram

Hmm, what does a diagram have to do with a Class definition?

How can I otherwise add attributes to an UML class?
