Michel, merci beaucoup for looking into this, however, I have some 
trouble understanding what you are asking me. The 'id -a' looks like 
something to be run on a local system.

But I am not a TOPCASED committer, but using the anonymous public CVS 
access. It seems that for some reason the o+r flag ("other readable") 
got removed from those files on the server, but they need to be 
world-readable for all features of CVS to work (like accessing a branch, 
which used to work before).
