Hi everybody,

I need to develop a workflow (taskflow) editor for a Grid Scheduler (the
one provided with proactive: http://proactive.inria.fr/) and I am
actually looking for a technology to achieve this. I will probably
choose between using Topcased and GEF&EMF.

We use xml language in order to specify a workflow model instace, and of
course, already have an XSD for our workflow meta-model. We have already
generated an EMF model.

The model we need to create (our workflow) consists in a tree of tasks.
Each task has a set of properties and may need to point to a file (an
executable or a java file describing the behavior of the task).

We also need to have a runtime view (when the tree of tasks is submited
to the Scheduer, the tasks views would change their colors depending on
the state of the real tasks on grid - upon some events received by the
system).

Well, my question is very simple. While browsing the documents on the
Topcased website this morning I could not tell if Topcased could respond
to my needs. Actually I am not sure if, for my usecase in particular,
Topcased would bring more features then just using GEF and EMF.

I have already used Topcased 4 years ago for an editor and I was very
happy about it at the time, but I think things have changed in the
meanwhile, in Topcased and GEF&EMF.

Thanks in advance for any response and any pointer to any document on
creating editors with Topcased.
