we are going to start an activity around modeling with SysML/UML and we
would like to use your tool.
If I have understood the upcoming release of Topcased will be based on
the Papyrus editor;
[FAUDOU Raphael] not really. The 4.3.0 is still based on current TOPCASED editors (directly based
on GEF and partially generated from TOPCASED SDK) but in addition we introduce MDT Papyrus editors
(0.7.2 release) as a new experimental component. In this release, MDT Papyrus is not fully
integrated with other TOPACSED components (requirements, validation, simulation...). The goal of
this first integration is to help the TOPCASED community have a look at it and give feedback. This
new generation of TOPCASED editors will become the "standard" one for TOPCASED 5.0.0 in
next july (based on Indigo Eclipse release). The "current" editor generation will remain
available for some time so that existing projects can continue without migrating.
if so, if we start designing our model and diagrams
with the current version of Topcased 4.2.1 than will we able to re-use
these diagrams in the Topcased 4.3.0 realease with Papyrus?
[FAUDOU Raphael] yes, absolutely.
We have been working on a transformation tool between current TOPCASED SysML
editor and next generation SysML editor (based on Papyrus) so there will be
facilities to switch to the new editors after July 2011 if needed.

Hi all,
TOPCASED 4.3.0 release is coming soon. Here is the agenda for this release:
- Code Freeze on Monday evening 24th of January
- Beta version on Monday 31th of January
- Release on Monday 7th of February
This version will be based on Helios-SR1 and will build in Papyrus
editors of 0.7.2 release.
