three active release branches is too many. heck, 2 is too many in my
opinion. leaving it as -stable and -alpha is fine. adding -alpha-alpha is
just going to confuse things even more.
I suggest we scrap the idea of having 0.2.3x on the download page for now.
When 0.2.2.x becomes -stable, we have 0.2.3x as -alpha.
