As with #24580 it might be good to introduce java 8 date time classes
throughout the touched/created code, avoiding to use string comparison
when actually comparing dates, which could fail when changing date
formats. This concerns mostly GraphServlet, MetricsServlet, and News.
Should at least be a new (higher prio) ticket.
