Here's a graph comparing current (light blue) and suggested (light red)
approach over the years. It only shows four weeks in the respective
Aprils, and some years are missing, because I ran out of disk space. But
the general idea should be clear.

I think this looks okay, so I'll go ahead and re-import the rest of the
data. This will probably take 1--2 weeks.
