#13977: Evaluate alternate SSL/TLS libraries: CyaSSL, GnuTLS, ... -------------------------------------------------+------------------------- Reporter: teor | Owner: (none) Type: task | Status: new Priority: Medium | Milestone: Tor: | unspecified Component: Core Tor/Tor | Version: Tor: | unspecified Severity: Normal | Resolution: Keywords: lorax tor-client portability ssl | Actual Points: openssl | Parent ID: | Points: Reviewer: | Sponsor: -------------------------------------------------+-------------------------
Comment (by cypherpunks3): GnuTLS might be helpful for anti-censorship use, despite their incompatible licenses. I live in China and patched my own Tor with GnuTLS (using their `gnutls_record_send_range` to do extra padding), which works smoothly with vanilla bridges. Never seen GFW active probing on my bridge. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/13977#comment:12> Tor Bug Tracker & Wiki <https://trac.torproject.org/> The Tor Project: anonymity online
