I think we should cherry-pick after 0.4.3.2-alpha.
I've asked for separate PRs for different releases on the existing PR a
few times. But I think that's confusing for some contributors, and so I'm
happy for us to split their PRs ourselves.
(We've already cherry-picked or merged some of their PR commits in
#32791.)
