VPNs vs Tor. Both have advantages and disadvantages. A lot people combine
both methods to reduce risks for leaks.
VPNs
* easy to set up
* route all traffic through Tor
* no DNS leaks
* less anonymous than Tor
Tor
* requires correct proxy settings
* in past there have been lots of leaks due to configuration mistakes or
application bugs
* if used correctly: more anonymous
Can't we combine all advantages? I am proposing a Tor VPN mode.
Once activated, Tor acts as a local VPN-like client and internally
redirects all traffic though Tor.
