Arlo and I discussed this today. While IRC and XMPP seem like obvious
choices, the concern is that we are targeting a more general audience with
Tor Messenger -- an audience that may not necessarily know about IRC or
XMPP, but instead uses Google Chat, Facebook, and Twitter. Keeping this in
mind, we are going to have the following protocols on the front page:
- Google Chat
- Facebook Chat
- Twitter
- IRC
- XMPP
