Wow, there's some serious Linux wankery preventing .desktop files not to
be executable from the shell, and only work if clicked on. See
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/378783 and
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343896.
However, we may be able to do something like:

https://askubuntu.com/questions/5172/running-a-desktop-file-in-the-
terminal
But it will need a relative path to that execdesktop wrapper script. Needs
more testing/hacking...
