# February 2014 Progress Report 1. Continued to work with two victims of intimate partner abuse and help their legal and support teams understand the usage of technology in their cases.
2. Helped the success of the Tor Developers Meeting in Iceland. 3. Met with two venture capitalists looking to integrate bitcoin, tor relays, and provide incentives for running relays. 4. Spent more time with our lawyers reviewing contracts, employee agreements, policies, annual goals and objectives, and the like for FY2014. The goal is to tighten up Tor's company operations. 5. Helped ramp up the new contracts and admin person. 6. Worked with a research team from NorthEastern working on legal jurisdictional arbitrage in Tor path selection, and trust properties of tor path selection. Helped them think about their research, running simulations, and encouraged collaboration with the Naval Research Lab. 7. talked to BBC and KQED/NPR about tor 8. presented tor, domestic violence, and technology mashup at http://codesign.mit.edu 9. reworked the 2014 budget based upon discussions at the dev meeting 10. Talked to very angry person claiming we are holding her data ransom and demanding bitcoins to unlock it. Turns out they had generic ransomware and some how attributed it to Tor. 11. Did an hour interview with SVT.se 12. Did a 2.5 hour interview with documentary filmmaker 13. returned phone call to a european rape crisis center interested in tor and anonymously helping victims 14. wrote up project ideas for MIT codesign team at https://wiki.ipvtech.is/Projects 15. Helped write proto-proposal to research technology and human trafficking and the deep web 16. updated the blog software and removed the broken and unfixable search form 17. talked to survivors on phone about otr and chat so they can train another organization 18. interviews with bloomberg, nbc universal, al jazeera, techcrunch, the daily dot, and tech news daily about Tor Instant Messaging and Point-click-hidden services 19. talked to Al Jazeera about big data and privacy 20.
