This is the latest in the stable branch. 0.2.2.x is the beta branch, and 0.2.3.x is the alpha branch. > I am wondering why this is the case unless 0.2.2.29 and other 0.2.2.x > versions do not apply to Ubuntu. If you want the beta branch on Lucid, add this line just under the one you already have in /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org experimental-lucid main The keys are the same, so once you have both deb lines in place, a simple apt-get update and apt-get upgrade will install the latest 0.2.2.x package available. (There may be a delay between source releases and package releases.) If you want the alpha branch, I believe you'll have to build it yourself. Sources are available at http://torproject.org/dist if you feel like venturing into that territory. ~Justin Aplin > On 21/06/11 07:38, Roger Dingledine wrote: >> >> Tor 0.2.2.29-beta reverts an accidental behavior change for users who >> have bridge lines in their torrc but don't want to use them; gets >> us closer to having the control socket feature working on Debian; >> and fixes a variety of smaller bugs. >> >> Packages will appear on the download page in the coming days. >> >> (We didn't make packages for the previous beta release, because we didn't >> want to harm users who would be bitten by bug 3354.) >> >> Changes in version 0.2.2.29-beta - 2011-06-20 >> o Major bugfixes: >> - Revert the UseBridges option to its behavior before 0.2.2.28-beta. >> When we changed the default behavior to "use bridges if any >> are listed in the torrc", we surprised users who had bridges >> in their torrc files but who didn't actually want to use them. >> Partial resolution for bug 3354. >> >> o Privacy fixes: >> - Don't attach new streams to old rendezvous circuits after SIGNAL >> NEWNYM.
