Hello, I am helping translating Tor to Portuguese (Brasil). On the 12/24/2013 I sent an email to the coordinator of the Portuguese (Brazil) Project but I have not received any answer to my question or a suggestion since then. I understand that we are all volunteers and busy in between the holidays and the end of the Year and so forth, but 6 days is too much of a time lag. Usefully people answer to an email communication within the 48 hours period. Here is the email I sent on the 24 of December; <— email message start —> Subject:Translation of untranslated technical words I noticed that you went back and used words that you decided not to translate. As an example, “HTTPS Everywhere”. So, I am wondering if we could talk about that with other translators what technical words we are not going to translate. I have researched many internet technical translation from English to Portuguese and found that Brazilians working in the field also does not translated a variety of technical words. In addition, I totally advocate that certain internet technical words should not be translated. If we all agreed with a list of these words, it will help us to save time before finding out we did all that work that could be avoided. I really appreciate you feedback, <——— I hope this seems like a request for an answer! Thanks! Eduardo <—/ email message ends —> I think many issues can be easily resolved by communicating to each other. Thanks so much for your attention Eduardo |
