Hi israel,
This is my own personal tester's nightmare. It's decided to work as it should
now. It's like after about 2 reboots it seems to retain the changed background
wallpaper as it should.
What can I say? There must be an explanation but I guess it's a low priority
mystery to solve?

I don't believe it but now with the latest install I cannot stop
Desktop-Settings losing my new wallpaper again...grrrrrEven though I changed
the ownership to root:root and moved it to /usr/share/backgrounds with the
default.jpg

Hi Israel,
Upon install, I re-discovered my background disappearing problem but also had
an idea what the problem was.
So, I downloaded a wallpaper say wall.jpg and it gets placed in
/home/jack/Downloads.I go to Desktop-Settings and change the default to
wall.jpg.Logout/login just for good measure.Went back into Desktop-Settings and
the background was changed back to default.jpg...
Now, guess what, my wall.jpg has only jack:jack as owner settings.I changed
owner to root:root.Changed background via Desktop-Preferences to new wall.jpg
again.Went to Desktop-Settings and lo and behold the background stayed as
wall.jpg this time !!
So, there's a small problem there if a user leaves a background image with user
ownership which I'm sure you can think about fixing?
Log-file attached but not sure how much it helps.
