Hi Jack,
Yeah sorry I found the problem.
xedit-text-mime was running perpetually and I have since fixed it. i am
in the process of uploading and rebuilding it.
The issue is that this program can be used to set ANY editor to handle
all the default text mimes.
This is how it works NOW.
xedit-text-mime [-h|--help|-?] [-f|--force] [-p|--program] [text program]
-h|--help show this help and exit
-p|--program [text program] this will set ANY text editor for all
text mime types
-f|--force force the setting, which overwrites any current configurations
So for example
xedit-text-mime --force --program pluma
Than just check the log for it:
~/.jwm/logs/xedit-text-mime-${program}.log
there should be one for xedit, and one for pluma
Of course if you do not have pluma installed this will NOT work, and
will run for xedit instead as default.
I made this program initially because
I wanted it.
We needed to make text files all handled by default in a sane way
(opening with our text program)
So, the fix is in revision 378.
It has built and should be in the repo soon

Hi Israel,
I tried doing updates but it keeps failing to finish updating ; see 2
screenshots...
Updates got stuck first time, so I interrupted the terminal and tried
again and got this...
So I typed > 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' and get the results below
which never finish...
Cheers,
JackT.

Hi Israel,
Installed okay in VB; menus behaving; panel items behaving;

Noticed a new sources.list oversight when I was updating: see pic

Hi Jack,
I finally had some time to work more on firstrun.
The good news, I found that firefox in Debian is now 'firefox-esr' and
is in the repositories. So all the jumble of what we used to have to
do is totally finished!!! It is really simple now.
I think I fixed a few of the other firstrun bugs, as well.
I also log all the gtk warning garbage to a file so the users don't
have to see it.
Anyhow, I am updating the torios-desktop package now so I think things
should work well.
I also updated the menu program, as I have condensed all my simple c++
common functions (in all my programs) to a single common library (with
its own namespace no less :D linuxcommon ) so things are now easier
to keep track of, as I can simply use the same common library for all
my stuff.
I have been working on the library for quite a while for another
program, and I decided to rework the menu program slightly to include
it, and use the better functions.
