The following modifications were made to this issue:

Status changed from "New" to "Closed"

Reason:
It is now checked in TorqueInstance.getDataSourceFactory() whether Torque is 
initialized. As getting a connection is the first  action before doing anything 
in the database, this should now produce a explicit error message in all cases 
if Torque is not initialized.
