the new schema was added here:

https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/db/torque/trunk/torque-site/src/site/xdoc/documentation/orm-reference/database-5-1-strict.xsd

and database-5-1.xsd. We probably haven’t updated the site after thi change,
which happened to be after the last release ..

Actually the change was already added in database-5-0.xsd (inheritanceType with
type package) and only the targetNamespace was changed.
In the published database-5-0.xsd a version attribute =”5.1” is already added,
which is a softer change keeping the same schema id with an updated version.

As this change does not break anything, it should not matter, but usually you
want provide a different targetNamespace / xmlns.
As in 6.0 no schema change happened, this will be published with the upcoming
release ..

there might be a tiny change, I do not remember exactly, if at all. I could
check this next week. It might be that it is checked in at another place..

Yes, we should check this for the upcoming release, which will be currently
version 6.0 (like Turbine, with Java 11 baseline). I think we are not far from
a release candidate. The recently discussed Torque issue might be resolved, as
the last "obstacle" :) I would like to check it with some test systems ..or the
reporter (mwriedt) will confirm the closed state.

Hi Georg,

Just wanted to point out as I was playing with the archetype code generation,
the version of torque referenced is 5.1, however we did not update the schema
files to point to 5.1 which should be an easy fix. But, I was checking and it
appears that the version for 5.1 release and on the website, xsd still says 5.0

https://db.apache.org/torque/torque-5.1/documentation/orm-reference/database-5-0.xsd

https://db.apache.org/torque/torque-5.1/documentation/orm-reference/database-5-0-strict.xsd

and there is no resource found for:

https://db.apache.org/torque/torque-5.1/documentation/orm-reference/database-5-1.xsd

https://db.apache.org/torque/torque-5.1/documentation/orm-reference/database-5-1-strict.xsd

I don't imaging these schema definitions have changed much, and no impact as
far as I can tell on the use of either. But, if you are preparing a 5.2 release
of torque, you may want to check that these are consistent?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi all Torque Devs,

I am in the process to prepare a Torque release, currently as version 5.2.

Except changes in the code like fixes and features, this release will support
only Java 11.

I think we should release as version 6.0 as this might be enough clear that we
break support for Java 8?

Anyone likes to share one's opinion?

Thanks!

Best regards,

Georg
