Once more ...toeque model templates - self references ? modify template ?

Hi All,
Let me be more precise:

Does any one knows what is the purpose of the 

    #if ( !($tblFK.Name.equals($table.Name)) )

line 440 in file 
templates/om/object.vm ?

Is it safe to remove this condition ? Since it eliminates the public List 
get<Children>() functionality inside 
my table where a self-reference is located.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
