Category: dialogs Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Accepted Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: czybear (czybear) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Filename shows error code on committing. Initial Comment: The file to commit with a Chinese filename. In the "xxx file status" frame, the filename shows right, but in the "File List" frame, the filename shows error. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: TK Soh (tksoh) Date: 2008-09-17 21:04 Message: When we are ready phase out Qct, naturally the internal commit tool will become the default :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: czybear (czybear) Date: 2008-09-17 20:42 Message: I think file status window is much useful. What about you ? If you plan to phase out Qct, please make the internal commit tool the default choise while installing. :) I have no other questions, you can close the issue. Best wishes! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: TK Soh (tksoh) Date: 2008-09-16 21:59 Message: We plan to eventually phase out Qct and replace it with the internal commit tool. Do let us know what are the features what you like on Qct, so we can try to improve the internal tool to match Qct's functionality. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: czybear (czybear) Date: 2008-09-16 21:52 Message: I tried the internal commit window, it works fine. But I think Qct mode is better then internal , for that it supplies more infomation. The better TortoiseHg works, the more Chinese or people using other language will try to using the helpful tool. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: TK Soh (tksoh) Date: 2008-09-16 21:24 Message: I just noticed that you were actually using Qct when you get the error. You might want to try check if TortoiseHg's internal commit window would work for you. It had no problem displaying the Chinese characters when I tried with you sample repo. See FAQ on how to enable internal commit tool: http://tortoisehg.wiki.sourceforge.net/FAQ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: czybear (czybear) Date: 2008-09-15 18:04 Message: Some useful message contains in readme.txt When you commit the files, you can see the errors. File Added: HgEncoding.zip ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: TK Soh (tksoh) Date: 2008-09-15 07:54 Message: What locale (encoding) are you using? BTW, it'd be very helpful if you can upload a sample repo for us to debug this.
