We certainly should check for and uninstall them if possible. It's
quite a PITA now to upgrade THG.

I believe TCVS is doing more that just that, since you can't
overwrite/delete the old shell extension DLL until it's unloaded from
Explorer. That means they would have to unregister, restart explorer,
register, restart explorer.
