  Heh.  I had seen this once before and was unable to reproduce it so I forgot 
about it.  I think your repository needs a changeset that starts with hex 0 for 
this to break.  Mercurial actually has a special alias for the 0 revision 
'null'.  If you specify null in the update dialog it does work, but I still 
want to make this less surprising to the user.

I suspect that the proper thing to do is when the user gives us a number less 
than the changelog size, we should assume it's a revision number and do an 
explicit lookup on it to get the hash id.  Thanks for reminding me of this.
