Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: add SHA1 id to changelog view Initial Comment: Currently the changelog view only shows the short numeric revision id which can be different between clones of the same repo. For communication with others it would be really helpful to know the SHA1 revision id in addition, for unique identification of a revision. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Steve Borho (sborho) Date: 2009-03-05 00:11 Message: this was in 0.7, and was probably in previous releases as well. the column is hidden by default ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-10-02 15:58 Message: You can already switch on/off columns for ids, tags and dates. I would also love to have the SHA1 there. Per default its off, anybody who don't want it should not turn it on. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Doug Philips (dgou) Date: 2008-10-01 08:39 Message: If what you want to do is find a particular revision using the hash, you can click on the most recent revision and then type Control-F to get a search box. If you have the hash in your clipboard, it is as easy as click, Control-F, Control-V. And yes, SHA1 is the only way to go. On my team, we have 7 people committing changesets, and often in their own trees at the same time, so time/date of a changeset, plus author, might be useful, but it is a lot easier to use the hash. Since we share changes through a special "review" repo, it is easiest to just use URLs that refer to the specific .../rev/<hash> Just my buck-two-fitty ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-10-01 03:45 Message: Wow.You communicate with yours peers using SHA to know the different revision? Why not in term of date and time? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-10-01 03:09 Message: yes, but if you are looking for the hash, it would be more convenient to scroll through the list and see the sha1, instead if clicking on all revisions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: TK Soh (tksoh) Date: 2008-09-26 00:13 Message: If you click to select the revision, you can see the SHA1 id on the header section of the diff window. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968357&aid=1951626&group_id=199155 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, CA -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the Enterprise -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source participation -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: SFAD http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H _______________________________________________ Tortoisehg-develop mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/tortoisehg-develop
