Issue 82: win32text breaks record and shelve http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/issue/82/win32text-breaks-record-and-shelve
Steve Borho / sborho on Thu, 12 Mar 2009 17:38:54 +0100: Comment: This is a problem in the way the mercurial's patch engine generates diffs. It always generates diffs against the native (unfiltered) repository contents so those diffs will be consistent with what's checked in. The problem for us is that those diffs will not apply to the filtered working copy. The solution for this is probably to teach mercurial.patch.applydiff() about working directory filters, but this is not in the scope for 0.7.1. We'll have to live with this for now. If you must use win32text filters, you cannot use the shelve tool and you cannot use change selection within the commit tool (you can select files but not hunks). And you cannot use MQ. None of these problems is unique to TortoiseHg, the shelve and record and MQ extensions have always been broken by win32text. It's just that we have made these patching features more commonly used.
