New issue 162: Log viewer's Control-F search box goes haywire. http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/issue/162/log-viewers-control-f-search-box-goes
Doug Philips / dgou on Fri, 10 Apr 2009 20:44:10 +0200: Description: (This in on Windows XP, SP2). I've discovered that if one pastes certain kinds of clipboard content into the Control-F search box of the log viewer, it will hang. How I reproduce it: Have Firefox open to a Bugzilla bug, one of the comments of which is an HTTP link to a revision in Mercurial, something like: http://localhost/..../rev/<hash> Select and copy just the hash from the link (which happens to be an active link). This is tricky because Firefox "wants" you to select the whole link. By starting your selection off the end of the link and dragging on to just the revision hash, you can get Firefox to let you select just the hash id. Now do the usual "copy" (control-c). Now, if you try to paste that selected text into the history viewer's search box (control-F), the viewer will lock up. If you paste the selected text into another app and then reselect and copy it again, the history viewer won't freeze up when you paste. I suspect this is probably gonig to be a PyGTK bug, but figured that maybe it was something in how Tortoise itself was responding to paste events.
