Hi,
I'm an enthusiastic fan of Mercurial and TortoiseHG, and I'm happy to
contribute to this project.
I've translated all the strings in italian in launchpad.net, now I'm testing
them using the instruction in
http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/crew/wiki/Translation.
I've some point to discuss:
1) Which binary installer I have to use? I'm using the nightly build from
code.google.com (TortoiseHg-090418.exe), is it right or is better the
stable version.
2) Many translated strings are still in english! For example all the items
in the explorer context menu.
3) I didn't found the string in launchpad for several strings. For example
the text of last button (and its tooltip) in changelog windows:
"other parent" and "diff other parent".
4) In many text the italian translation is larger than english version and
its relative control, so the text is truncated. What's the best solution?
Reduce the length of the text (I can do but the text results less
readable and may be the problem happens with different languages), increase
the
size of control or implement an autosize mechanism of the control.
5) What's the best way to treat the special words (repository, commit,
merge, shelve and so). Perhaps it's better to speak with other italian
Mercurial
users.
