It mentions: "hbmp(Un)checked method always inverts the icon on highlight, 
moreover icons are squashed - not rendered full 16×16 size (as you can see on 
the 1st screenshot). While this may be acceptable on not really pretty Windows 
2000 UI, on Vista it just looks ugly. So pure GDI way on Vista is the best way 
I presume now and it is how TortoiseSVN is now.
