Issue 230: Give some additional info about crew releases on th wiki or the googlecode web page http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/issue/230/give-some-additional-info-about-crew-releases-on-th-wiki-or-the-googlecode-web
amadawn on Mon, 18 May 2009 16:12:42 +0200: Comment: Since installing a new version of TortoiseHg takes time (at least 1 reboot) I think that having as much info about what is being installed before hand is quite important. I do not think we should be too concerned about newbies, since they are quite unlikely to be installing the crew version! But what I really had in mind is to get some sort of idea of the level of confidence that the developers have on each new crew release. Personally I was quite afraid to install one of the latest crew releases that was marked "experimental" (what could be potentially more unstable than an experimental version of the bleeding edge version of a 0.7 beta product! ;-) ). I think that a few lines explaining why the release was experimental (basically, "what to expect" from the release) would be really useful to help the testers decide to try or not to try a certain crew release. -- This is an issue notification from bitbucket.org.
