While this 41 seconds I can move the commit window and the content is repaint, but I can not edit a message in the message box. When I click in the message box, the title of the commit window change to "XXX Commit (Not Responding)" and my mouse cursor is an hourglass when I move it above the window. The second time I try to do a commit (after clicking cancel and launching the commit again) it took 5 seconds. So I would say, yes it is better than before because now you see the commit window, and you know that this is in progress, at least you do not launch several commit window by thinking that it didn't work. But now it's still improvable by putting the window messages and the refresh status in two different thread, and by adding a radar style progress bar indicating that the status refresh is in progress.
